Diagnostic Imaging

Diagnostic imaging is a noninvasive technique used to create detailed medical images of your pet, aiding in the diagnosis of various conditions. Our facility is equipped with some of the most advanced imaging technologies available, comparable to those found in modern human hospitals.

RADIOGRAPHY

Computed Radiography (CR) utilizes a cassette system with an imaging plate containing photostimulable (light-sensitive) storage phosphors. These phosphors capture and store energy from x-rays that pass through the plate. When bones or tissues are positioned between the x-rays and the plate, they block the x-rays, allowing an image of the structures to be created.

The cassette is then processed through a computer scanner, where a laser releases the stored energy as light. This light is captured, converted into a digital image by the computer, and the imaging plate is erased using fluorescent light, making it ready for reuse.
